Thai upstream to attract $14 billion in spending

Bangkok-Investment in Thailand’s upstream sector is expected to total Baht 492 billion ($14 billion) over the three years from 2009 to 2011, a senior government official said February 5. Around Baht 170 billion is to be invested in 2009, followed by Baht 166 billion in 2010 and Baht 156 billion in 2011, said Kurujit Nakornthab, director-general of the Department of Mineral Fuels. The planned investment is up from Baht 127 billion in 2007 and Baht 132 billion in 2008, according to Kurujit.
