Washington-Newly sworn in US President Barack Obama January 20 pledged to make energy policy and mitigating climate change priorities during his administration, following up on goals he set during his campaign for the White House last year. In his inaugural address, Obama promised that US energy policy during his tenure would have an increasingly strong environmental underpinning and in the process decrease reliance on foreign sources of energy.
