Essar eyes African sweet crudes for refinery

Singapore-India's private Essar Oil, preparing to commission its maiden refinery at Vadinar in the western state of Gujarat this month, is shopping for West and North African sweet crudes in the spot market, sources close to the project said November 8. The grassroots refinery is expected to be in commission before the end of this month, bringing online 7.5 million mt/year (150,000 b/d) of capacity, and scale up to its design capacity of 10.5 million mt/year early next year.
