Italy's Eni posts strong 4Q earnings,raises dividend by 20%

Italian oil major Eni posted net income of Eur2.18-bil (2.9-bil) in fourth-quarter 2004,up 41.6% from the same period a year earlier,helped by higher oil prices and stronger refining margins.Rome-based Eni also hiked dividends by 20% to Eur90/share and promised twice-yearly payouts,a move that helped push its shares 2% higher during trading in Milan.
