Tanker operators and owners were warned June 15 to take"extreme caution"loading crude at Iraq's southern Basrah Oil Terminal after pirates attempted to board a tanker waiting to load there.In a note on its website,shipping agency GAC said armed pirates boarded a tanker at Basrah deepwater anchorage B in the early hours of June 15.It said an alert was sounded when a watchman found three men carrying long knives,a rifle and a machine gun on board the vessel.The pirates fled in a speed boat and no casualties were reported.
