RAND MERCHANT BANK RESOURCES BOOSTS LN METALS

Metals trading group LN Metals International is looking forward to expanding its activities after a capital injection by one of South Africa's major banks. David Eldridge talks to Nigel Dentoom, the new chairman of the group, about the deal and his vision for the company. European metals trader LN Metals International has been given a springboard for growth with the agreement of RMB Resources, the resource financing arm of Rand Merchant Bank, to invest new capital in the company. Under the deal, LN will receive a multi-million dollar balance sheet injection but will be run as a stand-alone operation. Details have not been revealed on the amount of new capital coming from RMB Resources but the bank is believed to have acquired a 30 percent stake in LN.
