The world's diesel market is set to tighten considerably over the next few years, warn analysts, even before new sulfur limits on bunker fuel force the giant shipping industry to switch from fuel oil to predominantly marine diesel virtually overnight in 2020. Bunker demand is expected to add at least 2 million barrels per day to world distillate demand -- currently pegged at around 26 million b/d but likely to be much higher by 2020.
