摘要

Syria appears to be trying to push ahead with plans to attract more investment in its oil and gas industry, despite widespread condemnation of a government crackdown on demonstrations across the country. Officials from Syria's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources are due to deliver presentations on the country's offshore gas round in Geneva today. Syrian oil minister Sufian Allaw told state media last week that six international companies had bought seismic data for the round, which was unveiled earlier this year (IOD Mar.4'11).
