Three new coordination polymers, formulated as [(CH_3)_2NH_2]_n[Zn(tci)(bpy)_(0.5)]_n (1), [Z_n(Htci)(bpe)_(0.5)]_n ?n(H_2O) (2) and [Zn_2Ca(tci)_2(DMF)_2]n?2n(CH_3OH)?2n(DMF) (3) (H_3tci = tri(2-carboxyethyl)isocyanurate, bpy = 4,4'-bipyridine, bpe = 1,2-di(4-pyridyl)ethylene, DMF = N,N'-dimethylformamide) have been hydrothermally prepared and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analyses, IR spectra, and thermal analyses. Single crystal X-ray analysis reveals that compound 1 features a 2D→3D polycatenated supramolecular structure based on rare (3,4)-connected 2D bilayers, compound 2 features a 3D pillar-layered architecture, and compound 3 represents a rare (3,6)-connected kgd topological network based on heterometallic trinuclear [Zn_2Ca(COO)_6] clusters. Moreover, the luminescent properties and thermal stabilities of these three compounds have also been studied.
