Alcohol is transparent, colorless and volatile liquid present in fermented food products, fruit juices, etc. Alcohol is a depressant drug that slows down the activity of the brain, contains absolutely no nutrients and does not help relieve tension, induce sleep or solve problems. All alcoholic beverages contain the same mood-changing agent ethyl alcohol (C2H5OH). Percentage of ethyl alcohol in different beverages is given in Table 1.
