P-99. Strategies to prevent progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD): results of the national renal healthcare program (NRHP) in Uruguay

Introduction and aims: The NRHP began on October 2004 with the aim of preventing and reducing the progression of CKD. The strategies have been: to develop an extensive educational program for the primary care team, to decentralize the renal care, to install a CKD Registry, to promote a multi-causal treatment approach (including antihypertensive drugs, statins, stop smoking, etc), and to define the therapeutic goals (TG). Objective: Evaluate the results of the NRHP regarding the quality of care delivered by General Physicians (GP) at primary care, the impact of the nephrol-ogy care (NC), the achieved TG, the progression of CKD, and to estimate the Mortality and ESRD Rates.
