Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy After Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy in Patients With an Initial Diagnosis of Cytology-Proven Lymph Node-Positive Breast Cancer

The prime objective of the present multicenter, prospective study was to evaluate the suitability of sentinel lymph node biopsy for patients with node-positive breast cancer before neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The present study enrolled 143 patients with breast cancer with positive axillary nodes at the initial diagnosis. Sentinel lymph node biopsy after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in these patients was technically feasible but should not be recommended for the luminal subtype.
