PORTABLE PHASED ARRAY GIRTH WELD SCANNER

The portable phased array pipe scanning system offers versatile capability for pipes of 100 mm to approx 1 m, for many different weld configurations. The advantage of using a multichannel phased array system allows significant flexibility in set-up configurations, code acceptance, pipe wall thickness and diameter. Improved inspection and analysis can be performed by hooking the phased array pipe scanning system to a more advanced software package, either directly, or by downloading Focal laws and uploading data files. The pipe scanning system is inherently capable of fulfilling most general pipe inspection codes, e.g. API, AWS, ASME. For pipeline zone discrimination codes, a welding ban is required for positional accuracy, and the advanced TomoView software.
