Specification of the welding procedures and testing the properties of welded joints of 'Kosicka bridge'

Steels used for the carrying parts of the bridge structure, together with their chemical composition and mechanical properties are mentioned based on statistic data analysis from plate certificate. The plates of standard rolled S355NL steels and thermomechanically rolled S355ML and S420ML steels are compared. Properties of plates at loading in thickness direction are given. The tests for weld procedure approval record - WPAR and the tests of resistance against brittle fracture in agreement with Tender documentation are described. Welding procedure specifications -WPS were determined. Oerlikon consumables were used. The results of pre-production tests of welded joint specimens are discussed.
