Part of BP settlement to benefit safety education

A total of 12.5 million is being allocated for the Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center at Texas A&M University.This is part of a unique setdement in a lawsuit by Eva Rowe,whose parents were killed in the March 2005 explosion at BP's Texas City refinery.Along with strengthening the process safety center,the gift will be used to bolster the school's safety engineering certificate program and engineering ethics courses.
