Effect of integrated low cost nutrient inputs on sugarcane yield and quality

Improper nutrient Management is the prime factor that limits monetary returns from Sugarcane cultivation. Since the ruling cultivars of Sugarcane are highly nutrient responsive, their quantum of demand for chemical fertilizers are high, accounting for about one fourth of total cost of cultivation. This has imposed heavy fiscal burden to the farmers. This could be reduced through application of low cost nutrient inputs that will maximize the utilization of applied nutrients and resulted in maximum exploitation of sugarcane potential yield.
