Identification of efficienct groundnut cropping zone for Tamil Nadu

A study was carried out at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore during 1997 to identify the ECZ for groundnut in Tamil Nadu. The district and state data related to area, production and productivity of groundnut and data on total cultivable area were collected for five years (1989 - 90, 1990- 91, 1991-92 1992 -93 and 1993 - 94) form Agrostat (1994). The collected data were used to compute RYI and RSI as suggested by Kanwar (1972).
