The US oil firm signed a term sheet with an undisclosed partner to develop a prototype facility to demonstrate its new recovery technology on a larger scale: The 240-t/d facility will be built in Houston, Texas (US), and will eventually lead to the construction of a 2.5K-t/d facility. The technology uses a non-thermal, mechanical and chemical closed-loop network to recover bitumen from oilsands and tarsands.
