Most European utilities are likely to enjoy a bumper year in 2006 thanks to rising power prices,according to equity analysts at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein(DrKW).In its outlook for the sector in 2006,DrKW says that utilities are entering the next stage of a bull run,with average power prices expected to approach ?50(61)per megawatt hour,on the back of stubbornly high fuel costs and upward pressure from carbon dioxide(CO_2)emission allowances,which could rise to around ?35(42.50)per metric ton from a 2005 average of ?17.5/ton(p8).
