Jason Lawrence's APS-modified Touran TDI provides added style, performance and handling, while still fulfilling the role of family runaround. FOR ALL ITS supreme practicality and steady performance, you could never argue that the Touran is a 'desirable' vehicle, certainly not in the way that you'd consider a GTI or R32 as an aspirational form of transport. Most owners buy the Touran as a decision of the head, rather than of the heart, recognising its appeal as a compact 7-seat people carrier rather than as a style statement, and only later coming to fully appreciate its quiet ability as an excellent allrounder.
