REGIONAL VETERINARY LABORATORIES REPORTJULY AND AUGUST 2015

Regional Veterinary Laboratories (RVLs) carried out necropsy examinations on 759 carcasses during July and August 2015 In addition, 7,359 diagnostic samples were submitted during the same time period.The following report represents a selection of findings from the laboratories situated in Athlone, Cork, Kilkenny, Limerick.Sligo and Dublin. Staff in RVLs provide assistance to privati veterinary practitioners in diagnosis of many diseases and conditions that affect livestock on Irish farms through specialist expertise in pathology, bacteriology, virology, parasitology, epidemiology and disease investigation.
