Poppers are poppers - right? Well maybe not, because there's a vast difference between a home-carved broomstick popper to those produced in factories. For a start, to cast properly they need to be the right weight for distance casting into a strong southeaster, and need to land bum first so the hooks won't tangle. Next, they should pull correct side up and more importantly "swim" correctly when doing the "popping" bit. There is also the matter of colour.
