Exports and Imports of Nickel in the first half of 2004 : Many parts of the disappointments on the demand for nickel imported into China in the first half of 2004 have been sporadically seen. The demand for nickel from plating industry of China had been unexpectedly depressed from the beginning of 2004 and also an expectation of that from stainless steel industry was extraordinary excessive. Consequently, a differential between expectation and actual demand has come up to the surface with a feeling of the disappointments and excessive stocks of nickel. A phenomenon, which nickel situation in China has come to an excess, has been symbolized by the sales of nickel cathodes in July by Jinchuan Nickel which worked to export nickel cathodes with 500 ton lots.
