AS AN EMPLOYER in the veterinary sector, among the numerous rules and regulations you have to comply with are certain duties under the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992 (as amended).Commonly known as PPE, the regulations define personal protective equipment as "all equipment (including clothing affording protection against the weather) which is intended to be worn or held by a person at work and which protects him against one or more risks to his health or safety". This can include eye protection, gloves, safety clothing, footwear or specialised x-ray and lab clothing.
