Preregistration trainees to benefit from AfC changes

The Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists has reached an agreement with the Agenda for Change Job Evaluation Working Party for a band 5 profile for preregistration trainees.Current preregistration trainees whose job matches the national profile will have a pay increase from pound14,189 to pound15,877,backdated to October 2004.Preregistration trainees starting in August will receive a starting salary in the range pound16,389-pound18,698,depending on the stage of the assimilation process at their trust.The higher figure represents the full band 5 starting salary.Preregistration trainees will also be entitled to receive an increment after six months.
