I am pleased to report that the American Genetic Association (AGA) is thriving, thanks to you members and to a number of people who have volunteered a lot of their time and energy. First, our flagship Journal of Heredity continues to receive outstanding submissions. The impact factor has exhibited a consistent upward trajectory, landing at 2.25 for 2010. Meanwhile, thanks to our Associate Editors, Chief Editor Scott Baker, and Managing Editor Anjanette Baker, handling times are short, with papers receiving their first decision in an average of 36 days. In response, the AGA has initiated a reward system for Associate Editors wherein they may have their expenses paid for participating in the annual AGA symposium.
