Occurrence of Foot and Mouth Disease in a Vaccinated Herd of Cattie

摘要

Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is an acute and highly contagious disease with a potential of causing great economic losses in cloven footed, domesticated and wild animals (OlE, 2000). The present communication deals with the study on the outbreak of FMDin a vaccinated herd of cattle in Chhattisgarh. An outbreak of Foot and mouth disease (FMD) in a vaccinated herd of cattle was investigated at Bhilai, Durg, C.G., during the month of October, 2009. History revealed that all the animals were vaccinated using FMD oil adjuvent Triovac vaccine in the month of April, 2009. In the herd of 50 animals, all animals showed typical symptoms and lesions of FMD. None of the animals died during the outbreak.
