Call for formation of photon valley at Kurematsu of Hamamatsu region of Shizuoka prefecture

摘要

Shizuoka Prefecture is planning to create a photon valley in its Hamamatsu area. On February 2001, a national project to foster a regional technology development was launched at Hamamatsu city. The project aims at development of a compact high power laser for which Hamamatsu Photonics will play an important role. Many regional business have participate in the project. they are Hamamatsu Photonics, Suzuki Electric, Nissei Electric, Hamamatsu Electronic Press, Ozawa precision, etc. Based on these enterprises, Shizuoka Prefecture expect a collection of companies related to optical technology will grow into a large collection of optical industries.
