Combined nephron-sparing techniques for the management of bilateral synchronous renal masses.

A 31-year-old man presented to his primary care physician complaining of vague abdominal pain. Computed tomography (CT) scan revealed multiple, bilateral renal masses and he was referred to this institution for further management. The past medical and surgical histories were unremarkable. The patient denied any family history of cancer, ocular pathology, or lung disease. The physical examination did not show any abdominal masses or neurologic deficits. Creatinine was 1.1 mg/dL. There were 6 masses seen on the left kidney and 9 on the right. The largest left and right renal lesions were 3.1 and 3.5 cm, respectively (Fig. 1).
