January 2011 marked the beginning of my fourth year as Editor of Urology. Having reviewed several thousand manuscripts during that time, it is apparent that many good manuscripts are sent back for revision or rejected outright because of poorly presented data or the lack of attention to statistical detail. Accordingly, members of the Editorial Board have reviewed the most common errors and established a set of guidelines for improving the quality of data presentation and statistical analysis for all new submissions. The detailed "Guidelines for Data Analysis and reporting" are now available on the Information for Contributors page of the Urology website (http://www.goldjournal. net/authorinfo), and I ask all contributing authors to review them carefully while preparing a manuscript for submission.
