Rail and Road Delays Expected for Some Time

Railroads and trucking firms were assessing damage to transportation infrastructure,equipment,and storage terminals from Hurricane Katrina late last week,and said that customers should expect delays for "some time." Major railroads had begun repair work on lines in areas north and east of Mobile,AL by last Friday,and said that they were still assessing damages elsewhere,including at rail yards fully or partially submerged by the storm.
