One of many contradictions that characterises construction contracts, whatever the procurement route, is the attritional nature of the relationship between the various construction team members. This is despite a veneer of co-operation and lack of blame culture. Technology, especially the current facility to transfer immense quantities of material between team members, assists both features. Independently of the advent of BIM, it has long been possible for parties to keep each other fully informed and impart extensive information electronically so that everyone can be properly kept in the loop.
