Arteris was formed in February 2003 "to develop a breakthrough SoC design solution, including next generation on-chip interconnect technology and functional design verification platform." The company has raised more than $12 million in first round funding led by Atlas Venture with co-investments from Crescendo Ventures, Techno Venture Management and Ventech. Company founders Alain Fanet, Cesar Douady and Philippe Boucard previously founded T.sqware, a network processor startup that was acquired in 2000 by Globespan-Virata for over $200 million. The company has 24 full-time and 6 part-time employees.
