To fight cancerous cells, scientists continually seek new strategies. Some of the latest treatments target specific cancerous cells for destruction, thereby leaving healthy cells less affected. In other cases, new therapies starve cancerous cells. Many of these approaches depend on understanding how signals control and— hopefully—can be commandeered to contain the division of cancerous cells.
