Preparation and Biocompatibility of Corrosion Resistant Micro-Nano Dual Structures on the Surface of TAx Pure Titanium Dental Implants

Pure titanium is widely used in dentistry, so many researchers pay attention to it. In this study, the implantable pure titanium TAx material commonly used in dentistry was taken as the research object, and the micron pure titanium material was prepared with powder metallurgy method. And titanium oxide nanotubes were prepared by anodic oxidation method, and pure titanium materials were compounded with titanium oxide nanotubes to generate medical pure titanium materials PoSP-NaTNT-T and PoMe-NaTNT-T with nano-micro dual structure. During the experiment, the above materials were compared with the pure titanium sample PoMe-T and the pure titanium sample PoSP-T after the shot blasting acid etching treatment. The above materials were characterized by means of electron scanning microscope, contact angle measurement, and X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and the corrosion resistance of the materials was analyzed through static immersion corrosion experiment. Biocompatibility analysis was performed on mouse osteoblasts MC3T3-E1, including cytotoxicity, cell proliferation and other properties. The results showed that the corrosion degree of these materials in oxygen-rich condition is less than that in natural condition, that is, the material has strong corrosion resistance. Live/dead cell experiments showed that these materials don't cause massive mortality of cell, that is, the materials have no toxic side effects. In addition, the osteogenic metabolism rate of PoMe-NaTNT-T was faster than that of PoMe-T and PoSP-T, and the amount of calcium salt secreted by the corresponding cells of PoMe-NaTNT-T was also the highest among the four materials mentioned above. In conclusion, in this study, the micro-nano dual structure on the surface of TAx pure titanium dental implant prepared by means of anodic oxidation and powder metallurgy showed good corrosion resistance and good biological activity.
