This text is another in the Battleground series that takes an overview of controversial issues in various arenas, in this case science and technology. The approach taken is such that this work is essentially a reader for those approaching science, technology and medicine subjects from a social science or humanities background rather than a scientific one, with solely pure text entries and an absence of any formulae. The point of view is also from a USA or North American, rather than a global stand point, throughout.
