New wagons for EWS

Delivery has commenced of a total of 255 wagons being supplied to EWS under two separate contracts for its operations in the UK and France. ECR France Director-General Alain Thauvette said they were 'an important addition to our fleet as we expand across France', and he expected to win 'more new-to-rail traffic' as the rest were delivered. Due to arrive in the UK this month are the first 15 of 105 low-sided box wagons ordered by EWS Network from Greenbrier in Poland; the last should be delivered by late spring. They are also 90 tonnes gross, and are required to support a seven-year contract to move infrastructure materials for Network Rail. These wagons have been fitted with Axiom Rail's AMIII suspension.
