R1V1T announced on June 6 that it had written to Home Secretary Amber Rudd, urging her to abandon the proposal in the Conservative general election manifesto to abolish the British Transport Police. The union has also called on her 'to protect security on the transport network by halting cuts to frontline staff who are trained to help prevent a terrorist attack.'
