Barclays launches fund aimed at PFI market

Barclays Bank has launched a £200m infrastructure debt fund, in a bid to attract new in vestors into the PFI market. The Barclays senior debt in frastructure fund is the first of its kind to be launched by a Brit ish bank, and has a target size of £500m. 'It is clear that additional sources of finance have to be accessed to meet the UK's infra structure needs, and the Gov ernment has called on the pri vate sector to provide efficient and effective solutions,' said the head of infrastructure debt at Barclays Corporate, David Cooper.
