LRS Opens Single-Stream MRF

Last month, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) held a ribbon cutting and Open House for its new single-stream recycling facility called the Heartland MRF, which is located in Forest View, Illinois, just south of Chicago. The 40,000 square-foot facility, which is designed to handle more than 110,000 tons of high-grade residential and commercial single-stream recyclables, sorts, separates and allocates over 20 tons of waste per hour. Not only does this facility's innovative technology positively impact the environment, but it benefits the community in creating more than 100 jobs in Cook County.
