Port Townsend To Increase Use Of OCC At WA Mill

The Port Townsend Paper Co. said that it is planning to increase its capacity for cardboard recycling, according to an article in The Leader. The paper mill currently recycles about 400 tons per day of Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) and its looking to increase that number to 750 tons per day by making some technology upgrades and making minor mechanical changes. Last year, the mill recycled 294 million pounds of OCC, about 30 percent of the state's used OCC, Kevin Scott, General Manager at Port Townsend Paper, told the newspaper. Scott said he hopes that the mill can increase the percentage of the state's used OCC to 45 percent.
