Asia naval gazing

INEC@IMDEX Asia 2013 (the International Naval Engineering Conference at the IMDEX Asia event in Singapore this year) took advantage of its location in the second largest naval ship market in the world for both surface vessels and submarines, writes Frank Mungo. IMarEST has been managing INEC on behalf of a mainly NATO naval and industry Technical Committee biennially since 1992. The plenary session was held in the new Changi Exhibition Centre with an audience of about 500 local and international naval delegates and industry figures. The chief of the Republic of Singapore Navy, Rear Admiral Ng Chee Peng, provided a thoughtful keynote on the role of technology in developing naval capability.
