Naval Helicopters in Service with Asian Naval Forces

Some of the more advanced Asian navies have had naval air wing for decades, consisting of both rotary and fixed wing aircraft. India, for example, has transition from just operating foreign-made aircraft to a mixture of both foreign and locally manufactured for its naval air wing. The main argument for having a naval air wing is that it enhances the situational awareness of the fleet and extends its range of operations. This is especially true for anti-submarine warfare (ASW), which unfolds in a slow and steady manner, two sides using everything they have in trying to detect the other side first. Naval air wing, including properly equipped and armed helicopters, will aid tremendously in speeding up the cycle of seeking and destroying enemy submarines.
