The Alternating Segment Explicit-implicit Scheme for the Fourth-order Parabolic Equation

In this paper, a group of asymmetric difference schemes to approach the fourth-order parabolic equation are given here. On the basis of the classical explicit scheme, the classical implicit scheme and these asymmetric schemes, a new alternating segment explicit-implicit scheme is constructed. Then, the truncation errors and the unconditional stability are discussed. A comparison of this new method with the implicit scheme method is presented in the numerical experiment.
