摘要

Success has been achieved in enhancing crystal pruity through control of proc3ss vriables such as mixing intensity, cooling rate, and rate of cosolvent or precipitant addtion. However, the use of chemicla variables to affect changes in solution thermodynamics that enhnce crysal prutiy has remained relatively unexplored. Dramatic changes in amino acid soluibiltiy have been noted upon alteration of the solution polarity and ionic srength through the additon of cosolvents and electrolytes to the aqueous solutions. The current research is designed to exploite these vwarying effecs of cosolvens and electrolytes for amino acid purificaiton purposes.
