摘要

The deformation behaviour of a 99.99% pure polycrystalline Yttria samples, prepared by hot isostatic pressing, in the temperature range 1200 to 1550 C.It is shown that for strain rates between 10(sup -5) and 10(sup -4)/s a superplastic-like behaviour is observed. The first tensile experiments on this oxide are presented. A fine-grained and equiaxed microstructure coupled with a relatively good damage resistance have allowed elongation-to-failure values of more than 40%. 7 figs. (Atomindex citation 27:010347)
