Part 1 presents the target buildings in Thailand, modal analysisrnand proposed retrofit design methods. The CD method modifiedrnalong with steel frame is also expanded to VD application for thernfirst time. Moreover, a modification by energy balance is newlyrnproposed for both EPD and VD to fine tune damper design.rnThe discussion and validation of proposed methods will bernpresented in Part 2 [6].
