Foreigners shun Malakoff IPO

Global institutions have been giving malakoff's M$2.7bn (US$740m) IPO a miss amid macroeconomic and currency concerns in Malaysia. Malaysia's first IPO of the year wrapped up the cornerstone tranche last week with about 11 domestic investors taking part. Somewhat unusual for a Malaysian new issue was the fact that there was no direct participation of foreign institutions, only local affiliates of offshore funds.
