Owner and designer: Deacon Hospitality Group and Shannon Maldonado,Philadelphia The details: Dye House,the latest concept from Deacon Hospitality Group,aims to bring new life into Providence,Rhode Island's Olneyville neighborhood.The shoppable hotel and community event space is located in an 1864-built wool factory that has also been a dye house (hence the name),pottery studio,eyeglass manufacturer,furniture maker,and architecture firm since its inception.The goal for Dye House founder Everett Abitbol was to create "a space that is open to the community again," he says.Working with Philadelphia designer Shannon Maldonado,founder of retail boutique Yowie (and Abitbol's partner for his first hospitality venture,the Deacon hotel in Philadelphia),the charming building now features works from local talent,an unexpected neon palette,and sculptural accents.
