CONTRACTOR SAYS HOOVER DAM RULING WOULD CHANGE ALL RULES

A Legal Cliffhanger Looks almost as worrisome for PCL Construction Services Inc. as the physical challenges in building the Hoover Dam Visitor Center. The Denver-based company is seeking $32.4 million for breach of contract and retained money on top of $36.5 million already received from the Bureau of Reclamation for the project. But a federal judge is putting most of the blame on PCL for taking 44 months to complete the 22-month contract. PCL plans to appeal that ruling from the U.S. Court of Federal Claims after it is formalized next month.
